Yes. PTA Desk works with standard keyboard-wedge 2D barcode scanners. It reads the AAMVA PDF417 barcode on the back of driver's licenses and the VIN and Louisiana title barcodes on vehicles — no special hardware or drivers required. Barcode scanning is included with the Pro plan.
Does PTA Desk replace ExpressLane?
No. ExpressLane is the Louisiana OMV's own online system, and PTA Desk does not submit anything to the OMV automatically — your clerk still enters each transaction into ExpressLane. What PTA Desk eliminates is the duplicate work around that entry: scan once and your customer records, filled DPSMV forms, fee math, and receipt are done, with the whole transaction organized on one screen so the ExpressLane entry is typed once.

Can I run multiple office locations on one account?
Yes. PTA Desk supports multiple locations under one agency account, with per-clerk accountability on every transaction, role-based access for operators and admins, and per-location transaction records. Pricing is per location: each active location you add is added to your subscription at your plan's per-location rate and prorated automatically, and deactivating a location lowers the bill the same way.
What does PTA Desk cost?
PTA Desk is priced per office location. Standard is $150 per location per month or $1,500 per location per year. Pro is $350 per location per month or $3,500 per location per year. Every active location on your account adds to the subscription, prorated automatically when locations change.
